Apprenticeship Levy
SALARY

FUNDING
The Apprenticeship Levy is a funding system that allows large employers—like Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) and schools with a payroll of over £3 million—to fund apprenticeship training. If your school pays into the levy, you can reclaim those funds to invest in developing your learner support assistants or teaching assistants.
- Who is eligible? Schools, academies, and Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) with an annual payroll of over £3 million.
- What does it cover? The levy covers up to 100% of the costs associated with apprenticeship training, including fees, assessments, and materials.
- How we help: Swift assists in ensuring you utilise the funds to support your school’s development needs, making the most of what’s available to you.
Incentives for Hiring Apprentices
The government also offers financial incentives for hiring new apprentices. These grants are designed to encourage schools to employ apprentices, providing additional support to bring fresh talent into education settings.
- Who is eligible? Schools hiring apprentices or those employing young apprentices aged 16-18.
- What does it cover? Grants of up to £1,000 for new apprentice hires.
- How we help: We’ll help you apply for these grants, ensuring your school benefits from all available financial support.
