Electra
Great Barr, Birmingham
“I would like to do a teaching assistant apprenticeship because I have always loved the idea of teaching new things as well as being able to make a difference in people’s lives all around me. I see this job very rewarding and fulfilling as any type of positive impact I can put towards the students makes me happy knowing I have made a positive change in their life and helping them reach their desired goal.”
Brief Overview
Electra has recently completed her Level 2 Early Years Apprenticeship where she has gained around 18 months’ work experience at Sunflowers nursery and completed her Level 2 childcare qualification.
During this role Electra had a number of responsibilities including supporting children with activities and supervising them in rooms, providing feedback to parents and carers, setting targets for children and general preparation and organisation in the nursery. Electra spent time working in the pre-school room during her L2 apprenticeship, which made her realise teaching was for her.
Electra completed a week’s work experience at Yew Tree Primary School where she supported pupils one to one and in small groups and supported the teacher setting up and preparing the classroom. She thoroughly enjoyed her time at the school and realised at this point teaching was the career she wanted to go into.
Electra has also had roles in hospitality and has volunteered at the British Heart Foundation and St Giles Hospice. She loves reading, cooking and photography in her spare time.
Electra is passionate, ambitious and motivated, as well as being able to work well in a team. She is punctual and reliable and can also adapt well to new situations and work well independently.
Electra is available immediately to begin her Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.
